Entry 4: Catching Up
July 14, 2022
So this entry was a long time in the making. I may or may not have totally forgotten about doing this but no that I'm back I have some make-up work to do. I've read a good number of books an I think I'll do baby entries for each of them.
The Near Witch - This was actually a really cute book. I got it in Bath at a really old looking bookstore and it was signed by the author, who I am a pretty big fan of, I really like her books. I think the plot was well developed, as is all of her books. My one thing is the relationship of the two main characters. I always feel like some books have their characters get in a relationship a little too fast. But I got right through the book and had no problem with it.
Madam - I began it last summer but bought it in London this summer and read it in London. Set in Edinburgh, and I actually got to go there. I liked the plot and was pleasantly surprised with the plot twist. Don't get me wrong, it was fucked up to the max of course, but I wasn't expecting it.
Eight Detectives - I think I bought this book for 1 pound at a thrift store in Bath. I had oritginally seen it at the bookstore in London but didn't buy it because I was buying Madam. But, it was 1 pound so I had to buy it. It was surprisingly good. I loved the murder mysteries and they made the book go by so much faster. And I LOVED how at the end they created alternate endings to the story. AND THEY BOTH FIT! It was very good and the plot twist with the characters was SO GOOD too!
